THE CURSED AMONG US by John Durgin
| Right away, author John Durgin pulls us in to a black-magic narrative. Four friends are out in the woods filming a horror movie when they stumble upon a dark secret. It won't be long before they realize they have set free an evil, once again, on a town that is still recovering from the wounds of a serial killer. This story is riveting. Durgin easily pulls you in and doesn't let you go until the last sentence. Throughout the story, Durgin conjured enough emotion, to have me care what happens to the kids. There is suspense and gore; and even the awkward moments all high school students face every day. He also took the time to address what was popular in the late 90's..such as the old movie store Blockbuster! While I was reading, I was captivated in what happens next. It is a story that flows well and had my attention the entire time. I hope to see more from John Durgin, this is a great start! |
