Thaumaturgist by Matt Duchossoy



 There are very few authors who literally have me excited when I see them releasing a new story. I will do everything I can to grab that story and read it. Matt Duchossoy is one of those authors. I can not recommend him enough to every reader in the world. 


A group of people are seeking shelter when they have a car accident on a lonely highway. They finally come across a home that will hopefully be inviting and let them stay for a bit. What they didn’t know is the house is a creepy place and the family is strange. Strange shadows and a freaky creature is watching and taunting them. 


The entire story is well written, engaging, and very creepy. The good and bad guys are relatable, even the creature. The scenes are expertly detailed to give you a sense of belonging in the story. This is certainly an atmospheric read.

Even if you don't draw all of the cats, this is definitely a must-have for all cat lovers!

The Trunk by Mia Dalia

  This was a crazy story! It starts out smooth as molasses and then gets all twisted and dark. It’s one of those stories that escalates quickly going all outta left field. Bogdan and his wife buy their first home together and it comes with a basement… with a trunk in the basement. Nothing else is down in the basement but this weird trunk. He doesn’t think too much of it at first. Until he finally decides to open the trunk. Mia Dalia writes fantastic stories. She has quite an imagination to give her stories lots of twists and turns. She told me once that she enjoys psychology and I think she writes with that in mind. Her writing style invokes humanity’s inner demons and pushes the mind to harrowing events. If you are in the mood for a quick horror story with a psychological twist, you need to read The Trunk and Smile So Red by Mia; she will dig into your brain.

The Deading by Nicholas Belardes

 This is genuinely a wonderful story. The Deading is one of the best pieces of literary horror I have read. It guides you through so many emotions and inner demons of all the characters. From the young to the old, The Deading highlights the differences of what age and time can do to change the strengths and compassion of an individual. While priorities are always different when we grow older, the basic need to survive and to be loved… never changes. Belardes reminds us that even though we have faults, we are each unique and have the capabilities to survive difficulties and come out stronger and better.  This is a strong character-driven narrative with some ornithology, creature features, and suspense. Under the watchful eye of the government, a small sea-side town tries to survive an infliction upon them. The people are changing. The once quiet and calm town has become a ruthless and dangerous community. The anxiety and stress of living in this changed town takes a toll on so ...
