The Curse of the Ratman by Jay Wilburn

 



Jay Wilburn's The Curse of the Ratman was so much fun! There was a lot of fast action and gory good moments! This is my first book by Wilburn. It is sure to get your heart pumping and cause some involuntary shudders because of his writing style. 

 

Tommy Rinder is just trying to live his early teenage years having a blast with his buddies and hanging out in the town junkyard. One horrible boy scout trip ends up starting a vicious retaliation from the Ratman because promises are broken. 


This was a quick story to read. It is just a bit over 100 pages so a great book to pick up to finish up your end of the year reading goals! Even if you have met your reading goals, you should read this. It is worth it.

At Home with the Horrors by Sammy Scott

  This book of short stories is fabulous! I enjoyed every single story. They varied in true sense of horror, but they all had horrific endings, most you won’t see coming. What We Have Here is a heartwarming and terrifying story about a married couple who have some communication problems.  Theresa is a never ending love story. This one will stick with me for a long time.  Blackbird is when a dream becomes a nightmare.  In the short story Sisters, a daughter needs help moving her mom to a retirement home. The mom doesn’t want to leave the home she grew up in. Peeping Tommy is your average neighborhood boogeyman. Or is he…. In Becca ; Becca and Bryan need help with someone watching their house at night. Lulu Mayo teaches us how to draw some of the cutest little cat things. It starts out with a section of using a color wheel. I love the title of one of them "Pawsitively Pretty Pastels". From there on, the author shows up 101 ways to draw a cat. Such as a cat dragon, a mushroom cat, a cat cabbage, and cats drawn as zodiac signs! Even if you don't draw all of the cats, this is definitely a must-have for all cat lovers!
